A Call for Harmony - A Plea for Change Volume 05

The Struggles of Pakistan's Christian Community

Navigating Challenges Faced by Pakistan's Christian Community. The current state of affairs for minorities, particularly Christians, in Pakistan is increasingly distressing, even more so under the present Christian religious and political leadership. In the present days, the challenges faced by Pakistan's Christian community are deeply concerning. Despite 68 years of existence, the situation appears to be worsening, especially under current Christian leaders.

After 76 years of existence, the situation seems to be worsening, and the plight of the Christian community demands attention. It is crucial to acknowledge the powerlessness of our political leaders within Pakistan's legal framework for minorities, where they are selected, not elected, and compelled to support their parties rather than advocate for Christian rights.

Acknowledging the limitations within Pakistan's legal framework for minorities, our leaders, selected and not elected, are constrained. It is crucial to encourage them to prioritize Christian rights. Rather than echoing past passivity, our leaders should actively seek solutions. Let's foster a united front, focusing on inner peace, respect, and harmony among all citizens, transcending religious boundaries. It's a gentle call for a brighter and more inclusive future

The Christian community in Pakistan faces an uphill battle for rights, respect, and security. The call for change resonates not only in the political arena but within the religious leadership. A shift towards true nationalism, embracing humanity above religious prejudices, is the key to building a Pakistan where all citizens, regardless of their faith, can coexist peacefully. It is a plea for a brighter future, free from persecution and inequality

Appeal for Change:

The ongoing migration of Pakistani minorities seeking asylum due to the dire situation raises a critical question: Is it nationalism or racialism? Christian leaders must shift their focus from political games to advocating for the Christian nation's rights, fostering a sense of confidence and security among the community.

Historical Perspective:

Reflecting on the history of Pakistan's creation, Christian leaders stood alongside Muslims for a secular state. However, the Christian leadership's actions during the "Martyrs of Youhanabad" memorial service raise concerns about their commitment to Christian well-being.

A Plea for Inner Peace:

The inner struggle for power among people and communities continues, disrupting Pakistan's peace. Meanwhile, political leaders attempt to shift the narrative, as observed in the "COT Radha Kissan" case. The prevailing sense of insecurity is both a political trap and a reflection of an ongoing battle for power. The call is for leaders to prioritize inner peace over political maneuvering.

Religious Leaders' Accountability:

The spiritual and religious leaders, consecrated for divine work, must be accountable for their actions. Sadly, some leaders seem to be swayed by materialistic benefits, guided by the desires of fleshly pursuits. Media, driven by materialistic interests, may not be wholly responsible for neglecting divine and spiritual matters. Religious leaders must reclaim their divine roles to guide the faithful.

Political System Critique:

The political system in Pakistan, seemingly dictatorial, enables Muslim political parties to select Christian representatives who often prioritize power over the genuine representation of their communities. This favoritism perpetuates a cycle where the powerful triumph over the poorest, fostering an environment of racialism rather than true nationalism.

Encouraging the Next Generation:

In light of the nationalization of schools and colleges, coupled with the erosion of national rights through legal avenues, the Christian community finds itself economically and institutionally powerless. Churches and Christian colonies have faced destruction, and instances of living burnings have occurred in Pakistan. Thousands of Christian families have sought asylum abroad, leaving those who remain feeling morally deflated.

Leadership Dilemma:

The present Christian leadership appears to echo the passive mentality of its predecessors, who failed to safeguard the interests and well-being of the Christian generation. Religious leaders, establishing the Prime Minister Prayer Group, focus on prayer as a means of patriotic contribution. However, the question arises: Why aren't these leaders actively pursuing Prime Ministerial attention for the solution to Christian rights issues? The skepticism lingers, reminiscent of leaders who played with Christian futures and feelings in the past.
